Sayyid Ali Khamenei's historic fatwa on the first three caliphs of Islam.

On September 30, 2010, Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Uzma Khomeini, issued a fatwa on the first three caliphs of Islam.  The fatwa that created unity between Shiites and Sunnis.  Below are some of the highlights of that historic fatwa.  Information is taken from "".

Khomeini said of the three caliphs, "We want to see the unity of Shiites and Sunnis. Because now is the time when Muslims are being beaten all over the world. And behind it are Jews and America. But look at us. We are at war with ourselves. Sunnis with us.  There is no difference, we only have a little quarrel about the election of the caliph, but we takfir the honorable people of Ahl as-Sunnah al-Jamaat, there is a very large group among us, they takfir the first three caliphs of Islam, but what about Imam Ali (as)?  Did you do that together? Or did you preach Islam with them? "

"Imam Ali (as) was a true believer. Since the first three caliphs have been elected, then it must be understood that they have become the will of Allah. Imam Ali (as) did not oppose them. Instead, he considered them as his brothers.  Hazrat Omar (R) was a man who loved Imam Ali (AS) very much. Omar said, "O Ali.  If you hadn't!  Then this Omar would have been destroyed.  "

"A Shi'ite Ali can never have a concept that Imam Ali (AS) did not have. If he loves Imam Ali (AS), he must obey the first three caliphs. Khalifa Rashedin must obey anyone. Why not?  The era was the golden age of Islam. "

He added, "Had it not been for Hazrat Umar ibn al-Khattab, Persia would not be under Muslim rule today. Even if it were, 99% would never be a Muslim country. Omar, Osman, Abu Bakr have done a lot for Islam.  Since the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Imam Ali (peace be upon him) loved the first three caliphs, we must love them too. Takfir cannot be done in any way.

In addition, a law has been passed in the parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran.  Where mentioned, the first three caliphs cannot be takfiri in front of the Sunnis in any way.  Moreover, if you discriminate against Sunnis, you will be severely punished.  But we have to be sympathetic to Sunnis and Shiites.
